Season Tickets

LOL IDraft......Like in the 1970's in Bklyn, the Italian American Anti-Defamation league came around to the Flower Shop I worked at and asked for a "donation", when the owner politely declined a few weeks later his front window was smashed in. When they asked the next time they actually said, "you know with a donation, there's a guarantee the front window will be protected".
The Italian American Anti-Defamation League founded as a legitimate political advocacy group formed and led by Joseph Columbo (head of the Columbo Crime Family). So yes, I can see the urge to make a donation.

I will not be increasing my donation to St. John’s this year other than what I have already provided, points or no points. I have two other organizations that I support who could use anything else extra I can provide and I would rather give to them.

I struggle with this all the time. I support some charities where a much smaller donation makes a bigger difference. For example I help support a small grass roots charity that helps a village in tanzania where $5000 built a bhoma - a school house with a residence for a teacher, $7000 built a well, and every penny donated goes directly to a project requested by a governance board.

Keep doing great things with your charitable stuff. Even relatively small amounts help these entities tremendously.

Understand the desire to monetize...my concern was people donating considwrsbly more and not necessarily improving their standing on seat location.
Remember when they tried to monetize the hiring of Mike Anderson? How'd that work out. Not the same situation, but our fan base ain't stupid...I hope. PS sounds like a blind auction.

I believe you can have a conversation such as how far up the list will a $xx donation get me. They can't assign you a sest based on a donation but when they hit your priority ranking in sequential order can tell you what's available.

Actually a donation where you get something of value by irs rules reduce the deductability of the donation.
Good point. You can't deduct a contribution to buy a seat location.

What do great seats cost at Duke?

Yes we arent Duke but we were top 10 last year playing at the mecca and projected to be top 5 this season

As demand rises so will prices. Duke's less desirable locations are much lower.

Wow the last paragraph about the scalping

Athletic department has been really responsive in helping explain how points were calculated, sharing breakdown, and helping to estimate how much of a donation would move you up the list or if current location is fairly safe right now.

From the top down they've been responsive, so don't hesitate to reach out. In my experience they are all great people, great fans, and mostly alums also.

I stumbled on this. UConn is also doing a reseating, which has already started, and apparently before the existing season ticket holders even get a crack at selecting their seats, half the lower bowl at the XL Center (their version of MSG) has already been allocated to corporate sponsors, etc. Will be very interesting to see how this plays out at SJU.

Have to assume the same for us right? tickets behind the bench - floor seats... are probably pre-allocated...

anyone here in the top1-2% of choosing? if so- first- thank you for your contribution$.... second- give us some intell on whats not available

Yes, it's interesting because it's not just the floor seats that are taken, it's half the seats in what would be the equivalent of our MSG center 100 sections that appear to have been pre-allocated too. So lots of people are going to get pushed higher up or to the sides. Anyway, UConn did win 2 national championships recently and so maybe the demand situation is different for them than us.

whats up guys- so... i've read here we are able to Increase our seat count when it's our turn to choose.... you guys know if we can "split" the purchase with another Name?

If i wanna add 2 more seats... can i put those 2 additional seats under a new name? or would all 4 have to be under my name?

All 4 tickets under your name. I spoke to the ticket office about this already.
