Yankees 2025 Season

Lombard. Not sure he's ready.
He just got promoted to AA a week and a half ago, and has struggled a bit. He's nowhere near ready. At AAA right now, they have at best fringe MLB types from other orgs such as Andrew Velazquez, Braden Shewmake and Jose Rojas. Be prepared for a heavy dose of DJ.

We watched Torres for 7 years and between his terrible baserunning and defense, it was time for him to move on. He can hit a little but he is a low IQ ball player, who by the way, refused to move to 3B when they acquired Jazz so that also left a bad taste in the mouths of the front office. Maybe him and Devers should team up somewhere.

Sometimes, tangibilty is important though.

28-year old middle infielders who hit like he does, with a proven postseason track record, do not just grow on trees.

We're also very left-handed (although I'd rather be that than very right-handed). Judge and Goldy are about all we've got from the right side.

I know he was frustrating, but he could have helped us in so many ways, IMO. Certainly, giving him at least the qualifying offer (I would have signed him long-term) was a better risk then giving 32-year old DJ LeMahieu a 6-year deal (I hated the DJ deal when it was signed, unlike most fans).

Never saw Boone as the guy who could get Torres to play solid, fundamentally sound baseball. It's certainly not the mark of his teams.

There was some talk about giving Ben Rice learning third base to keep his bat in the lineup.

Some players who were successful at this

Bob Elliot, an outfielder for the BOSTON Braves
Joe Torre, catcher for the cardinals

Not far fetched.

Horrible offensive performance by the Yanks last night, and worse performance by the home plate umpire.

0 for 14 with RISP definitely won't cut it any day.

Frustrating when they can't simply move a runner along in extra innings. DJLM back, but had a bad at bat.

Grisham again with a bad read on the double leading to the 1st Mariners run.

Lol yeah, and in his first AB he whiffs.

Welcome back DJ.

Can't the Yanks just cut DJ, he SUCKS.
Leadoff man gets on because of a error by him.

Cut the freaking has been, and get someone from the minors up. Can't do any worse than this guy.

Players gotta be good to help their team win, well htf is he helping?

The error wasn't even his fault, I believe it was changed to a hit anyway ! He doesn't have to be Joe Morgan and look who he is replacing. Both Jazz and Cabrera (even though I'm a fan ) were below average contributors. Lombard will be here soon enough!

Lombard won't be up with the team until 2027, or late 2026 at the earliest. He just got to AA, and has been struggling there.

Judge continues to be amazing, Goldy has been a great Robin to Judge's Batman. Will Woman pitched well overall, and deserved better than the "hit" he allowed that DJ and Rice screwed up. Real good win today against a good pitcher. On to the Mets.
