Glad to see Shoeless Joe reinstated as it is questionable whether he actually participated in the Black Sox scandal/fix. I have read about the story and feel unlike Rose who knew what he was doing with the betting. Jackson may not and did try to alert White Sox ownership only to be rebuffed. I hope he makes it in the HOF before Rose.
 
The “Hall of Fame” is really the “Baseball Museum”. Has been for a long time. Harold Baines? Bill Mazeroski? Phil Rizzuto? C’mon. Now they are reinstating dead guys. Why? They spent 3 hours on WFAN today talking about this. Ridiculous waste of time.

The sign on the building says Hall of Fame and National Baseball Museum.

Reinstatind dead guys? You mean Ted Williams is being unfrozen?
 
If they are going to reinstate people then why not look the other way with steroids? Gambling was banned from the sport and there were rules against it. Steroid use was not banned nor were there rules in place the times these guys played. If anything the Steroid Era players should be the first in because the league pretty much encouraged it.

The BBHOF has been made out to be Vatican City by the voters. Thats the issue.

True but remove “Hall of Fame”. The standards were lowered where good guys were made HOFers.

Ted Williams doesn’t need to be reinstated he’s already in but last time I checked Rose and Jackson are both dead. Not sure what you are saying?
 
Reinstating Shoeless Joe and Rose is long overdue.

Especially considering that betting sites are now legal and have become major advertisers/sponsors of pro sports, while pro franchises located in Las Vegas are no longer taboo.

Are you implying that there’s an air of hypocrisy enveloping the pro sports world? That would be shocking, to say the least. Next thing I know, you’re going to suggest that this has infiltrated collegiate athletics as well.

Bud Selig getting in made me lose any respect of the voters or interest in the hall. Total hypocrisy
