You are correct although Mike Rutherford was a member of Mike and the Mechanics, he is probably better known for his membership in another band, Genesis.

But a Nick Rutherford type as a backup PG would be nice.

I agree. Even if he tanks his workout, or something as bad as an injury happens (which I will never root for on an athlete), he would still be a top 45 pick. Its not like he could free fall out of the upper half of the second round. He's doing this because its not definite.
