They aren’t in abundance. And it is dangerous to bring in a closer from a losing team, who have no pressure on them.
Love him or hate him, Diaz is the closer.

You can have Williams. Pete changed his career trajectory and not for the better.
It feels like Lindor was created in a lab to be my favorite Met of all time. His talent and personality are A++, but the fact that he always seems to rake against my most hated teams (Phillies and Yankees) is the best part about him IMO, throw in his iconic home run against the Braves to send us to the playoffs, this man just keeps giving us amazing memories against all our rivals
I mean come on man, look at the resume of iconic moments this guy is building here... just unreal stuff. And last night was yet another chapter.
From the pop and r&b charts, "My Girl" by the Temptations is rocketing up to the top ten!
Saw someone online say when we honor wright this summer he should pass the torch and give Lindor the C. Might get a little misty eyed if that goes down

This team is on fire! I understand fans liking McNeil if they think he can replicate his hitting production from 2 years back. But just like late last year I wouldn’t let this guy back in the building. These guys are having fun playing the game at such a high level. Bring in this nutjob he starts throwing his helmet every time he pops out with his flaccid swing. McNeil is a doosh at best and a cancer to the clubhouse at worst IMO!

Stearns and Hefner may be genius’ because if they can get Canning to be a good starter, they can get anyone to be a good starter.
People can do what they want. Although, if 20 people “boo” it sounds like “everyone” is booing. This is just a fake narrative for talking heads.Soto could hit .200 and as long as the Mets are winning…I mean the TEAM is 17-7. He’ll turn it around. Some of these people need to relax but whatever.

Pete top 3 definitely so far, but we’re only 25 games in.
But lindor not even top 10 this year(so far) , and last year he was over hyped.
2024 Lindor was 9th in NL OPS, his best category was 4th in runs scored.
Lindor was not in top 10 in RBIs or average. I’m glad he’s on team, he’s an all-star,
and above average defense, but I laughed each time I heard MVP chants.
Lindor finished second in NL MVP voting last year and it was deserved. He gets MVP chants because fans watch the games and not a stat sheet, they understand what he means to the team.
