Some combo guards are way more combo than others. He visited and they worked him out but isn’t he more of a combo guard than true PG, hence why UConn picked up Smith? But yes, we could have done the same, get him and a true PG behind him like UConn did. I like Silas and he was a highly rated player in the portal. Seems like opportunity missed.
Wonder if staff is aware of this kid. West coast based but still uncommitted and doesn't seem to be much chatter about him on Twitter or the discord in terms of who is heavy on him.
Excellent A/TO rate, solid around the rim, and can make open 3s at a decent clip. Had very good games against USC and UCLA. Defense would be a bit of an issue but at this point nobody is gonna be perfect.
I wouldn’t worry about some unheralded guard from Idaho St. taking shots swag from Ian Jackson. lolStats are good. Love the assists. Looks like he likes to score though. Not enough attempts to go around.
His father was NFL linebacker James Darling. Played for a decade including Jets in 01 & 02

He didn’t play nearly his entire sophomore season due to injury but I agreeHe averaged 1.7 and 0 points (just 3 games) at Washington State his freshman and sophomore season. It just goes to show what a drop in competition can lead to.
Quincy Roberts averaged 1 point here as a junior and then 24 the next year at, I want to say, Grambling?
Yup, maybe shades of Walterr Clayton, Jr...MAAC Player of the Year in 2023?Conference player of the year as a sophomore is impressive I don’t care what level.
Leaving out the yapping at the refs portion, you can go through this Forum and find the same “ball hog” comments about RJ and Daniss which most here would take both back in a nanosecond.
Or it could and probably be that they have no interest.I’m sure staff is aware of him. Could be perhaps they’ve already checked in on him and he’s not a kid that wants to go from Idaho to NYC. Who knows.
