Waiting for Cadeau
Except maybe Coach Looie. RIP.Very true
Excellent MooseHope all is well Ted!
Baylor just lost their ENTIRE team. Thousand of kids are now entering the transfer portal every yearThere is no doubt that Pitino is a great Coach
And , given a track record that he has , he’s most likely a SOB as well .
Maybe the Players who left and are leaving had enough of that second part of Rick to say Adios . Of course , fueled by more $$$$ or , more playing time .
I promised myself I wouldn’t post much anymore for fear of being banned again but thought I would chime in here. As many know, I was never a Wilcher fan. Was he a nice kid, sure, fine team mate, I guess but I was never in the locker room. My judgement of him was purely on his in game performances. Did he have some fine moments, yes he did, as one mentioned, the pass to Zuby for the game winner was a winning play.
My criticism of him was his weak handle, his long range shooting and his weak on ball defense against quality guards which was clearly exposed in the Arkansas game where aside from him only scoring 2 points, spent more time on the bench from getting beat by their back court. Im not going to mention maturity issues cause in today’s game he’s not alone.
Could he have stayed and improved his game perhaps but obviously the coaching staff thought otherwise, hence Pitino’s priority of bring in multiple two guards. If you trust the process then you should not be complaining about his departure.
What I find head scratching and borderline hypocritical is that the very same people who support players getting large pay days and bringing in players from rival teams are now upset with the process when it hits home. And why is Wilcher being viewed as a victim when no one here even knows the reason behind his departure. Is he leaving cause he’s being recruited over or because he may be making more money elsewhere? I’m sure the kid as a college student will be making more money then most wage earners in a family of 4 will make, in fact it’s probably not even close.
Speaking of generations, I’m of the older generation. I’ve come to the realization of either I stop watching the sport or I come to terms with the reality of the situation which is what Coach P has clearly stated….. this is a business and these kids are professionals.. The NCAA is not coming in on the white horse to save the day, it is what it is and may be like this for some time to come.
Lou is the only one that comes to mind off the top of my head. Please name a great coach that wasn’t.
No personal knowledge other than some long time Nova fans who are good friends but I'd also say Jay Wright had that reputation.Lou is the only one that comes to mind off the top of my head.
I don't wanna stray too far from the topic.... Joe Gibbs. Please name a great coach that wasn’t.
The staff obviously didn't think further efforts were going to turn him into Boogie Fland. Was really high on sim coming into this year.. oh well this is why we root for the front especially during these times
Jay is a true gentleman! No personal knowledge other than some long time Nova fans who are good friends but I'd also say Jay Wright had that reputation.
Wright seems like a nice guy, but no denying he was a prick on the sidelines. Another guy who whined about every callJay is a true gentleman!
Rick has washed away the previous stench from the program. All are welcome again.Excellent Moose
I am always reluctant to attend any games these days as Moose says I am a jinx LOL
I don't think that is the type of dick we are referring to........Wright seems like a nice guy, but no denying he was a prick on the sidelines. Another guy who whined about every call
You completely missed the point I was making. Thankfully, most didn’t. The point was not just about him leaving it’s the whole process taking place. If you support players getting highly compensated for their services, then you have to accept what comes with it. Players being recruited over, players looking for more money, and again it being about the bottom line, winning and the cost involved. As usual, you miss the mark. Find one post of someone faulting Sim for leaving? Just one that rises to "hypocritical." Nobody blames him or Glover or anyone else for leaving. There are players we'd like to stay and cheer on for four years. Zuby could enter the portal tomorrow and we'd be devastated, but nobody would blame him.
We are actively trying to get Jackson to sign here. Some UNC fans will be rightfully frustrated by that. He might have a great year with us and get offered 5 mill by BYU. We'll be upset, but we will all understand it.
