We signed Smith and Kadary in May

The portal season was different last year however. The number of entries is pretty much the same as all of last year already so either that means its peaked or that means everyone else is going to enter but still hasn't yet. I lean towards to first part because last year those saw how you weren't guaranteed a spot when entering. The increase from 13 to 15 might offset that a bit.

I feel weird worrying. But its the most important position on the floor. We got spoiled last year.

Remember when many of you were hollering about the need for a center last offseason and it turns out that we already had a first team all BE player on the roster at that position? Perhaps Wilcher is at least part of the solution this season…

Not ONE player who is a true point guard is on the roster but a whole lotta twos and threes. We are struggling to sign a starting level lead guard but need TWO.
An unbalanced roster without a high level D1 lead guard can make for bad offensive plays. This year we were fortunate to have Smith and Richmond.

Wild because in a typical offseason, even accounting for what we lost, we would be thrilled with a transfer class of Bryce, Sonon, Sellers and Mitchell (assuming later happens).

Then why is he moving on? Did Coach Rick give him an uncompetitive monetary offer? Is it something you can share?

I am not an insider but I believe there aren’t any secrets or hidden agendas here. We knew getting Lee would be a battle, it is and will continue to be. He has not made a decision and is looking to hear from all of the schools interested in him that he has interest in. Once that is complete and/or when he is ready, he will make an informed decision on where he wants to spend his next season. I don’t know if there is a leader and quite frankly think he, his family and advisers are being very close mouthed on that. Makes it hard for everyone trying to get a feel and break a scope but actually shows a tight knit team who is keeping control of their situation.

Time will tell.

As of now, we are on the outside looking in on the PG market. Not sure if the staff misjudged the market, this is part of the plan, or maybe they have something up their sleeve. Even RP recognized PG is the top priority. Getting nervous at this point

Portal entries close a week from Tuesday. So as far as available lead guards we should have a pretty good idea what's available by next Sunday.
