Miserable game all around. Onto Sacramento. A lot of runs being scored over in that ballpark, maybe our offense can find itself a bit
Just the ups and downs of a season. Some games you are just destined to lose and this was one of those. Hopefully offense shows up in Sacramento. I watched them beat up on Cease last night. Lots of offense at that ballpark. Might be a good time to start hitting in a warmer climate. Either that or we might get smoked.
Watching Baty this season you get the impression he can’t hit for average , can’t hit for power, has no speed and is a below average fielder. Yet he is a regular on a team with eyes on the World Series.
The Mets have been winning so his deficiencies don’t scream out but another day like today and the players will be talking about it in the clubhouse. Someone with clout must be ordering his place in the lineup.

Diaz is not the same pitcher when it’s not a save situation. We weren’t scoring anyway so I’m gonna say/hope it was a blip on the radar for him.
In terms of Baty
. Even if he rakes triple A, we’ve all seen that movie already, multiple times. What’s it gonna show? He has to do it at this level and he’s really running out of time. At least Vientos has a body of work, and in the clutch, to lean on.

Anyone who stayed up to watch this game KNEW what was coming. Once it went to 6-1 I knew. It was set up perfectly.
They let it get to 6-4. Then you get lock down performances from Stanek and Minter. But in your heart you knew. I can’t go to bed now. We needed more. Pete hits a laser beam. Ok. We should be alright and safe at 7-4. Maybe they’ll squeeze another out from Minter with lefty on lefty. No. Here comes Diaz. Turned a nice solid win into the Cyclone Ride at Coney Island. Now I couldn’t fall asleep for another hour after the adrenaline rush.

They better get Diaz fixed ASAP or this season could take a bad turn. He hasn't been good for while, going back to the second half of last year. How crazy that he is now the weak link in the bullpen...
Today’s baseball. Peterson doing just fine. Trailing just 2-1 after 6. Threw 89 pitches.
For no reason at all he pulls Peterson and puts in Butto who immediately gives up ropes to the 8 and 9 hitters on the A’s. Now down 3-1.
Gary and Ron were just discussing how no Mets pitcher has made a pitch in the 7 inning. That might not be on the Pitchers if the Manager doesn’t let anyone pitch past 90 pitches.
