SJU Portal Targets

I think if it comes down to Watkins or Mitchell it has to be Watkins. Man is this a fun offseason.
Why choose? Lets take them all.

Vince Ayo Lefty, love Prey but......

If some how you can get 10-11 guy with the 11th being very close talent wise with the top baller on the team.
We could play full court nonstop, that would be a real 40 minutes of hell.

Yeah I know, I'm dreaming right, well atleast when I dream, skies the limit.

Thanks for the post.
Corollaries to the “bird in hand”
(But of course it could be argued that with Coach Pitino’s recruiting prowess, there’s no real risk of losing out altogether, that it might be worth the risk of releasing the one already in hand etc. as CRP will very likely get his share of top tier portal players)
  • Better safe than sorry": This saying highlights the importance of caution and avoiding risks, similar to the bird in the hand proverb.

  • "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth": This proverb suggests that you shouldn't be ungrateful for what you've been given or question the value of something you've received, which aligns with the idea of valuing what you have.

  • "A stitch in time saves nine": This proverb suggests that addressing a problem early on can prevent a bigger problem later, which is similar to the idea of not risking a good thing for a potentially better one.
What a season and seasons for us to enjoy!

We should add:
  • "No use crying over spilt milk." and
  • "Don't count your chickens before they hatch."
and probably
  • "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence."

Ian Jackson is trending toward playing for a familiar face next season

The frontrunner in his recruitment has been a familiar face to Kentucky Wildcats fans. Rick Pitino and St. John’s look to be where Jackson ultimately lands, according to 247 Sports recruiting expert Travis Branham.

“Heading home is the likeliest situation,” Branham said via the College basketball show earlier this week. “St John’s is definitely in the market for guards after losing Deivon Smith, Kadary Richmond, and RJ Luis. I anticipate St John’s will be a big player in this recruitment, probably the team to beat.”

Hopefully he doesn’t commit.
Seems like a very thoughtful young man who wants to do his due dilligence and get all the information he can before making a decision. For that reason I don't think there will be an immediate commitment, but we'll see.

Ugh. 😑 when my son was looking at schools several years ago we visited Gainesville. Yes it’s very nice. If I was choosing I would have ended up there. 😉 My son chose Penn State. Let’s hope Mr. Lee chooses for different reasons than just campus. The pull of Pitino hopefully outweighs the view.
