Rick taught our guys to play as one. First we have retained Zuby who might be the best switcher in college. We have so far returning players for continuity. Hopkins isn't slow so he can adapt. Whom else we get time will tell. Sanon I'd lie if I said I watched more than a 10 minute video of him not missing a shot

But can we be the #1 defense next year ? Odd's say that's tough but we have the best coach in the fing world. Who's willing to bet against ?

Seems Rick is more comfortable teaching offensively minded guys how to play defense in a short amount of time rather than watching an elite defensive unit endlessly lay bricks on the offensive end.

Sanon, Jackson, Sellers, and Lee (if all are here) are going to need to make pretty large jumps on the defensive end. I think next year's team will be another one that really peaks in Feb/March.

Houston should be the goal but me thinks Rick thinks he should be the goal which I think will happen and that means we go deeeeep

Agree it would be a bit crowded at that 2/3 wing spot but if you can split those 80 mins between those 4 plus Sim gets some run at point plus maybe some 4 guard lineups maybe there will be enough mins to go around to keep everybody happy

As I like to say in situations like this, Al Arbor was able to teach Mike Bossy how to be competent in his own end of the ice. There was no way in hell he was teaching Dwight Foster how to score 573 goals.

Getting way ahead of myself, but for Cardinal Hayes legend and alum, Jersey Shore Johnny, am happy to point out Rick (if we land Ian) will have successfully recruited two great Hayes players, Jamal Mashburn to Kentucky and Jackson.

I'd be elated with that with this potential roster imo. Top 10 offense and top 15 defense is legit final 4 territory

100% because we'd easily have a top 5 offense (on paper).

I also think the potential Dillon Mitchell add becomes extremely important. He raises the floor defensively significantly, and makes all of yesterday's conversation/worries about spacing hilarious.

I hate to say but what about him? He's not either of the other guys we would bring in.

He's a highly ranked kid with a year in the system and 3 remaining. Some on here thought that if he hadn't gotten injured he would have been solidly in the rotation by March.

I'd like for him to stay and see what he can do year 2. Could be a big jump
