I already posted they and his fam want the league but its doubtful hell get the assurance he wants. Money will not be a factor if he comes back to SJ. He is the biggest recruit ...by far.
5) Matt is really good at his job. Hes clear, persistent and direct.

If players don’t have to commit for at least a two year period just about all will enter the portal every year looking for a better situation.

In theory it sounds great but we need chemistry. Developing a core of freshman (sophomores in the case of Zuby/RJ) helps with team culture.

The portal will prove to be fools gold for the bulk of teams over time. Lot's of players are going to get burned thinking the grass is greener. It occurs in college football; college basketball will be no exception.

Appreciate the info! Half the time I come to this thread I just scroll to see if you posted. Don’t want to put anyone on the spot but does anyone know of these potential PGs? I’ve heard Thornton’s name both in and outside this board, not sure if he’s one or separate.

Is Hopkins and Watkins a one or the other type of thing? Just trying to understand how a starting lineup would work with potentially RJ, Zuby, Sanon, Watkins and Hopkins. Seems one wouldn't start and we'd need a PG

I would think one or the other and yes a PG is top need. My sense is they get Hopkins. Watkins has not made a portal move yet and Bryce, according to some recruiting guys, is ready to pop after his SJ visit.
 
I've been banging this drum for a while, but with all of Hopkins ability he has lacked the most important one...AVAILABILITY. if he is and can stay healthy, great, but if not, that's a lot of $ for not a lot of return.

I know anyone can get injured, but he basically hasn't been able to play for 2 years. That would make the investment in to him a very nervous investment imo

They did their due diligence on his health as Sju 79 implied so the staff seems willing to go for him.
