Sanon and Hopkins/Watkins would be a great start.
Not sure how much interest SJU has in Smith. I know they are setting their sights much higher. Of course there are now 15 scholarships so if players want to come and earn a little NIL and come off the bench so be it:

Malachi Smith entered the Transfer Portal on Monday, and the Dayton grad transfer immediately became one of the top point guards to enter. Talking with sources around the recruitment, I am told they would not be surprised if the New York native ends up going back to the northeast. St. John’s was one school mentioned, but I was also told to expect to hear Seton Hall, Providence, and Rutgers names. Stay tuned for this one.

Never been a fan of his though could be slightly distorted by him mostly playing for Juwan Howard and Bobby Hurley

Seems like an awful foul shooter and doubt he's looking to be a 10th man, so I'm guessing (not sensing) he doesn't end up here.

And some so called experts were saying there would be less players in the portal this season.
Yeah my point is less about this specific player and more about how not everyone they land will be an impact type of transfer. They will absolutely land several impact transfers but others will likely be there for depth. Because Rick will want 15 scholarships and as we saw this year he is not afraid to use kids in big spots even ones who had played sparingly up until then.
And people like Collins and others will have to ask themselves do they want to go down a level and play regularly or play at a high level with decent NIL but have to earn their minutes.
Guard Bruce Thornton is quite a player and tough get I would imagine.

Didn’t realize Bruce Thornton was in the portal and there’s a connection. Big time player from a big conference school. Like the offense he provides but not sure his defense. Never paid that much attention when watching them.
He's not in yet but highly speculated on the discord. Seems like other schools will have the upper hand. I sense Kentucky but don't know

What's the point of the "do not contact" tag when entering the portal (as Elliot Cadeau just did..) ? I assume that means the player already has it narrowed down to 1 or 2 schools and doesn't want to waste 30+ other schools time by them reaching out? I get not wanting to waste time and get bombarded, but wouldn't you be curious about how much some other teams would be willing to pay for you?
