Johnell Davis seemed a little too comfortable yesterday. In general Kansas’ defense was pretty weak.

I think we bother them way more (obviously) and force some turnovers.

I know Rick is going to be ripping our guys for the offensive rebounds Omaha generated last night. I think how we fair there will ultimately decide the game. As long as we don’t brick everything.

But I have a feeling we are going to really bring it tomorrow. Those Baylor/Georgia losses have been hanging around us all year as a reason for people to not believe in us in the tournament, and I think the team is locked in and ready to rip down yet another knock against us
 
While our D is our calling card, our Achilles Heel seems to be guarding a dynamic guard like a Kam Jones and Wagner can be that guard on any given day. The difference is that Marquette didn’t have as good a supporting cast as Arkansas has. The defensive help, switching will have to be excellent as between him and Fland (who hopefully is not up to par) if they get penetration, they have athletic bigs who are good finishers around the basket. Gonna need Kadary, Wilcher and Smith to guard tough and be engaged.

Wagner and Kam Jones are not comparable at all.

Wagner only has three games in his career at/over 20 points. One this year, and two last year against Marshall & St. Joe's.

what was Kansas made obvious late in the 2nd... Ark was mystified what to do against a Zone.

I dont recall us playing any kinda of Zone once this year.... u guys think we see some tomorrow?

Scoring wise you are correct but Wagner’s strength is with dribble penetration and getting his bigs the ball. We must stop that penetration.

Normally I’m a proponent of showing different looks (especially knowing Arkansas can’t break a zone) but we have the #1 defense in the country. Nothing we show them would be better than our normal defense IMO

Interesting reading on the Ark. hard, they think we have no chance. They think we are the worst 2 seed and an easy win. They are hanging on Georgia beating us 5 months ago.

I think Cal is a poor coach that wins with talent. I like Pitino as Cal with equal talent.

We won’t change to zone. I don’t expect teams that run man to man to switch to zone versus us.

I think personally we got the worst 2 seed. That being said let these cocky Arkansas fans keep being cocky because tomorrow that sweet smell of bacon being cooked is their team on the fryer of St John’s defense

Big picture, the first sentence is just huge. We no longer have that baggage of having not won a game in 25 years. We can just be a normal high major program again.
