NCAA Tournament seeding

While we have a few hours to kill what are our thoughts on results here? To me it goes as follows but doesn’t mean everyone should agree:
Must: win first game
Should: Reach S16
Content: Elite 8
Elated: final 4 or beyond
Of course all depends on matchups so could adjust slight in 4 hours.

Will reach S 16

Content at elite 8 provided the Billy Singleton officiating screw job situation does not rear its head. 🤬

Final 4 - ecstatic

Winning it all - Quite ready to die. 😇

The only scenario I see that puts SJU in East is if committee deems Duke no. 1 overall seed. Then Duke gets choice and they may choose Atlanta-South. If that is the case then maybe Auburn or Florida gets put in East and then you could see SJU as 2 in Newark.

But unlikely, I still think Auburn gets no. 1 overall.
Do you think that because Auburn has lost 3 in a row, Pearl lost is chance to be Coach of the Year?

Anything less than sweet 16 would be extremely disappointing

Each region is divided into quadrants with four levels in each, permitting the evaluation of four different sections within each region against the same sections in each of the other regions.

The committee will assign all four teams in each bracket group (seeds 1, 16, 8, 9), (4, 13, 5, 12), (2, 15, 7, 10), (3, 14, 6, 11) to the same first-/second-round site. There will be two ”pods‟ at each first-/second-round site which may feed into different regional sites.

Each of the first four teams selected from a conference shall be placed in different regions if they are seeded on the first four lines.

Teams from the same conference shall not meet prior to the regional final if they played each other three or more times during the regular season and conference tournament.

Teams from the same conference shall not meet prior to the regional semifinals if they played each other twice during the regular season and conference tournament.

Teams from the same conference may play each other as early as the second round if they played no more than once during the regular season and conference tournament.

Any principle can be relaxed if two or more teams from the same conference are among the last four at-large seeded teams participating in the First Four.

To recognize the demonstrated quality of such teams, the committee shall not place teams seeded on the first four lines at a potential “home-crowd disadvantage” in the first round.

That's the full context of the rule. As gonzalo said, this would seem to make East Region as a two seed impossible (if Duke is seeded there).

Which is also why we would never get Bryant in Providence.

I also wonder if committee will "penalize" Duke with the Flagg injury by giving them the West or Midwest. Auburn seems like a lock for number one overall and the South region. If Florida wins the SEC, could they be number two and be in the East?

If I had to guess I think SJU goes to South and is paired up with Auburn with the Regional in Atlanta.

I think Michigan St gets put in the West with Florida with the Regional in San Francisco.

Just guessing Alabama in the East with Duke.

And Tennessee in the Midwest with Houston with Regional in Indianapolis.
Every bracket I have seen has us at 2 in the West

I agree 💯

Anyone have the brain power to spell out this information via a mocked bracket? 😂

Committee doesn't prioritize most recent games anymore. They do take into consideration player's health.
