NCAA Tournament seeding

I know what you are saying, but in a way we already have a tournament of all D1 teams, beginning with the conference tournaments. It is the only assured way of making the NCAAs.
Not to mention, the reality is that if you don't get an at large bid, you sre about a zillion to one shot of winning the national championship. The very best teams who deserve to play for the championship will be in. The rest just make it interesting and generate $$.

Since none of us has any control over our seeding and where we will play, this thread is an exercise in FUTULITY. I have absolutely no idea about analytics or metrics, or how the members of the selection committee interpret them.

I will continue to do what I have since the beginning of this season, look at our schedule and root as hard as I can for St John's, one game at a time.

I think we have to bear in mind 3 things .

1. The NCAA has a 40year history of abusing St John’s , going back to the Walter Berry days .

2. The NCAA does not like Rick Pitino for being exonerated from the Louisville scandal .

3. The BE has been downgrade by the Committee despite Villanova and UCONN winning 4 Championships in the last 10 years

The Committer favors the SEC , Big 10 and in the past the ACC , especially Duke . Who hadnt won a Championship in I can’t remember when.
The Committee will try and sneak UNC into the tourney if the Heels do anything in their Tournament. Much like Virginia last year .

So , come Sunday night don’t expect any favorable treatment for our team .

This way , we can prepare to be disappointed despite our Record this season .

If a miracle occurs , thank the Almighty .

Right now , let’s just win the BET!

Uconn as of this morning is now 30th in the net so we picked up another quad 1 win with our home win vs them. Right now we have 5 Q1 wins.

- Both x or Marquette would be a quad 1 game in BET

- either creighton or UConn would be a quad 1 game in BET.

- If creighton were to win the BET they might climb from 38 into the top 30 and make our home win a quad 1 win.

- we could end up with as many as 8 if everything went our way.

Also - for quad 2
- kstate is 73, good chance they stay top 75 even if they lose to Baylor today.

- Virginia is 106. Still alive in the ACC tourney. Top 100 is quad 2.

Certainly a valid way to look at it but if you take that position, SJU, SHU, last year, no team in any year that thinks they were slighted in the selection process has a legitimate gripe because they had their fair chance on the court to make the tournament. I don’t look at it that way but I certainly see your point but then you have to accept and respect the result of the selection process.

We’re fans and this is a message board. Are we not allowed to discuss?

I understood the premise of your original post. I was responding from the opposite point of view.

But either way, in no way will I ever accept and respect the results of the selection process. How is that even possible. I am a fan. 😁

Not doubting that we are fans on a message. Just stating the obvious, that it is an exercise in FUTILITY since we have absolutely no control over what the Selection committee decides.
You say futility and if that is your feeling, I respect that. Even though, futile, I and some others enjoy the banter and speculation. No harm in that line of though either, IMHO.

Good spacing , tight paragraphs . Use of emojis sparingly .

Kranmars still has his fast ball .

He has taught so much to so many on this site . I’m serious .

Otherwise , it would be a garbled mess of unreadable proportions .

And , I’m not even talking about the content we post .

So , Peacock rules the day today .

And , for some of tomorrow . Ridiculous . .

I mean we have no control over really anything as fans other than ticket sales, donations and how loud MSG/CA is. Ultimately the players play, coaches coach, and the committee seeds us where they see fit. Still fun to discuss these things IMO

via bracketmatrix's top 10:

All of them updated, all of them have us as a number two seed.

Lunardi not only has us a three seed but he placed us in the toughest region in my opinion. Total hack.

He's an ESPN, non BE, shill just doing what he's paid to do. No more...no less.
... and even as a a paid shill for the ACC he agrees it's a 3 bid league unless UNC somehow upsets Duke.
Though I remain of the opinion that the NCAA will find a way to put UNC in as long as they don't lose before that game.
If I recall right he also has Xavier in the field and I think they have more work to do (at a minimum beating Marquette tomorrow).

I like relatively hot X over struggling M’Q, big coaching gap in big games too. No “told you sos” LMF, be humble lol.
