I like Gary but I am not he walks on water guy. Just me. I grew up with Bob Murphy too.

I also don’t remember the circumstances but Cohen and I think Ed Coleman did some St John’s back in the day. Not sure anymore. Don’t remember what happened.

Bitter Hall guy. Especially with the Kadary situation. Like you said we moved with the times. Not our fault Hall missed the boat. In fact, let’s just say teams were paying to play long before NIL.

St. John’s moved from WFAN to ESPN and they did not renew their contracts because the were considered WFAN employees with the Mets broadcast.

He seemed to be pissed about it and definitely holds a grudge against SJU.

It was another dumb move by St. John’s I’m a long line of them with regard to basketball program.

Mike Crispino took over radio which sucked

Both were nice guys. I helped with tracking stats for them when they did our games on radio.

great post SJU hoops on the radio has sucked ever since we left the Fan and then ESPN. Now we are not even on the radio, In fact WFAN now has Rutgers Basketball with Jerry Recco who is an unmitigated disaster on Boomer and Gio.
 
Ed Kull i know you read this board , please get the Johnnies back on the radio. Think 92.7 FM solid signal Christian Radio station, with an AM partner like 970 or 570 AM. Thats to start, like now, maybe WFAN or 880 ESPN next season.

I love Gary and think any publicity is good publicity. Hope a link gets on twitter to see what he said & in what tone.

How many conferences have a great MLB play-by-play guy also doing radio for the worst team (and poorest?) in the conference

Agree I met Gary as well he is a dry sense of humour. Amazing announcer.
