Creighton (MSG), Sun., Feb. 16, 3p, FS-1

Fitting Dwight Hardy was in the house and the Garden had that same palpable energy today as when he hit that GW against Pitt.

Give me 5 Aaron Scott’s any day of the week. Guy was possessed in the 2nd half! Goes without saying but having Deivon back is HUGE! I don’t know if he’s the 6th man moving forward but if that’s the case we have the best 6th man in the entire country.

Lastly we have the 3 headed monster of Kadary, RJ and Zuby. Giving Kadary the keys in crunch time just feels right. Almost like being a kid growing up and with your dad. You feel a sense of security. The guy is totally in control and leading us to new heights!

The stat of the game for me was this one. For the first 27 minutes and 30 seconds of the game Kadary Richmond had zero rebounds. He always grabs big rebounds, so I could not figure out why he had no boards. However, from then on he was simply a beast on the boards and grabbed ten rebounds over the next twelve minutes. He is truly special and rises to the occasion more often than not in the big moments.

Luis and Zuby were great too and Scott's defense was absolutely terrific! I am not sure how far this team will go when this is all over, but I am optimistic that by the end of the year we will have had a special season to remember.

We play great D. We let Neal have a game the other 2 didn’t beat us!! Ashworth loves to complain. We are having an amazing season. With 6 minutes left I told my buddy the first team to 72 wins. The thing that pains all us is Free Throw shooting. Thats were I am critical, the way they play it will always lead to double bonus easy. If you can’t make em it’s a recipe eventually for disaster. We won that’s all that counts. We have a Rangers like crowd. It was awesome again today!

This team is like the 90s Knicks. Not pretty to watch, and will never win on style points. Offensively, it's more cringe than clutch. But, they will give you 40 minutes of intensity, effort, grit and heart. They will battle for rebounds, close down passing lanes, disrupt with deceptive length. This team is reminding us of why we love basketball, and why we love St. John's. Thank you Father Shanley for bringing in Coach Pitino - the HOFer may be doing his best coaching job ever with this team. He has elevated the level of play of these kids to where they EXPECT to win, not hope to. What a year to this point.
