Game Day: St. John’s vs. Creighton – Time to Make a Statement at The Garden!

Today is the day. St. John’s takes the floor at Madison Square Garden against Creighton, and this is a "must-win" game for the Johnnies. The season has been building to this moment, and now it’s time to prove we belong at the top.

Here’s how St. John’s WINS this game:

Pressure, Pressure, Pressure – Rick Pitino is going to have the boys flying up and down the court. The full-court press needs to smother Creighton from the jump, forcing them into mistakes and bad shots.

Dominate the Paint – We are going to own the inside. Creighton does not have the physicality to keep us off the glass.

Bench Production – Our bench needs to bring energy and smart minutes. This is a chance for them to step up, spell the starters, and keep the pressure on while Creighton tires out.

Winning the Tough Plays – Every loose ball, every 50/50 play, every second-chance opportunity has to belong to St. John’s. When we play tougher than our opponents, we win.

Here’s how Creighton LOSES this game:

Struggling with the Press – They’re a strong team, but if we apply relentless defensive pressure, they will turn it over and get frustrated. This is where Pitino’s system shines.

Fatigue Sets In – Creighton’s depth is not their strength. They don’t have the legs to keep up with our tempo for 40 minutes. Expect them to fade late.

Shot Selection Gets Ugly – When we force them out of their comfort zone, they’ll settle for bad threes and tough mid-range shots. If we close out hard and rebound, they won’t get the clean looks they want.

This game is about sending a message. St. John’s is for real, and Creighton is about to find out the hard way. The Garden is our home, the fans will be rocking, and we are not letting this opportunity slip.

Time to step up, take care of business, and walk out with another statement win. Let’s go Johnnies!

He's very weak with the ball and a streaky shooter. I'm thinking he'll never be starter material in the Pitino system and will look for more minutes in a lower program....unless there is a serious downgrade in NIL interest. We definitely need to recruit over him for better and bigger overall talent. Has the talent to be a rotation player in certain game situations but kids want to play and unless he shows dramatic improvement over the next 8+ games, his minutes will stay in the single digits.
