I called the phone number listed for them and I got an automated response that the number is no longer in service and they would look for a similar establishment in the area.

Sounds like it has closed.

That sucks. The last two times I was there (after Butler and KState) it was packed. Is that the last Italian place in walking distance from the Carnesecca? Other than Regina's.

That's terrible. Attended an event there a few years before a St. John's game. Not sure where you do that now.

Dante, Stella and now this. Only 18,348 Italian restaurants left in Queens.

It happens with family owned restaurants where family members don't want to continue with the long hours. I suspect another Italian restaurant will replace it if the receipts show profits. However, a friend opened an Italian restaurant one block from the campus a few years ago and closed after two years because St. John's students rarely went to dinner there and it was in competition with Aquiista.
It's a shame because Lou was a regular at Aquista.
