McNeely is the kind of kid that calls his Dad after he doesn't get a call or a win. Guaranteed he was crying tonight. Total zero.

Kid is whack

Kid will not achieve a thing in the NBA. Dad can't help him there.

You know , I was thinking what is so special about McNeeley?

I know it was his first game back but , he didn’t show me NBA talent last night .
He got more than a fair amount of favorable Whistles too.
Like when he goes hard to the hoop, he will get blocking fouls instead of a charge on him .

Maybe I missed something that Scouts see ?
I would think they came away from the game with a increased interest in RJ .

It wasn’t KR’s best game but , he turned it up a level in the second half . His contribution did a lot to win the game .

In one of the biggest upsets of the season, St. John’s marched into a hostile Gampel Pavilion and took down top-ranked UConn, delivering a statement win that could reshape their season. From start to finish, the Red Storm played with urgency, matching UConn’s physicality and executing when it mattered most.

Rick Pitino, never one to hold back, summed up the rollercoaster nature of his team’s season in his postgame press conference, referencing an earlier disappointing loss by saying, “How the f* did we lose that one?”* There was no such confusion last night—St. John’s played with the grit and confidence that Pitino has been demanding all year.

UConn, backed by a raucous home crowd, made their runs, but St. John’s never backed down. They defended with intensity, controlled the boards, and hit clutch shots down the stretch. Every time UConn seemed poised to take control, the Red Storm responded, showing a level of poise that has often eluded them in close games.

This win could be the turning point Pitino has been waiting for. St. John’s has shown flashes of brilliance, but consistency has been their Achilles’ heel. If they can harness this energy moving forward, they will be a dangerous team in March. Heck they can even win the whole dang thing!

I despise UConn as much as the next person, but McNeeley is legit.
Crazy what-if: McNeeley never de-commits from Indiana.

All of a sudden, Woodson has a fringe top 20 team and keeping his job. UConn, who probably gets Brea instead, lacks any dynamism in their offense and is bubble team.

I don’t recall many years where we were not only 5 &1 away at this juncture, but also dug out of ample deficits doing that. Creighton is clearly in the conversation for top regular season team w also a great road record. Both teams are superbly coached, experienced and have team first mentality, nice to see. I look forward to the Creighton game to make up for the tough loss there.

Creighton scares me more now than they did in December. I really wish we had that one. Kalkbrenner really does neutralize our mid-range and in the paint game. Going to need to make that game a track meet.

I’m going to that game. I think we sell out garden for it at this point

LMF will have to clarify his question? Not sure if he was asking when was the last time we won consecutive games against ranked teams. 😀
I remembered the Nova/Duke duo but thought those were consecutive weeks, which they were. As always, ESPKen has the technically correct answer. Though it's a crazy answer, I have no memory of those games somehow. But I may have erased much of the Norm Error from my memory banks.
