Kadary was dead tired at that point he had to try to get him a breather and maybe that little rest gave Kadary the legs to hit the Game winner.
The problem is ,IMO, his shoulder injury is affecting his shooting, poor shooting numbers today. Maybe he should play more of a pg role and be very selective w his shots. Now that Smith is back bring Wilcher off the bench…. Sparingly. Say what you want about the good aspects of Wilcher’s game but if we had a shooting guard who could actually shoot, we would have some leeway against mediocre teams like PC.
Thank God Smith is available again.
That's why you stick them like glue.Exactly. Some times guys just get hot. Take the W and move on.
Yes - thankfully we won. Just such an odd game.It was halfway thru the second half, up 19, and I said well, we should put in Vinvet, Prey and Glover here.
Rick did just that (minus Prey) and that unit promptly gave back 10 points.
So he put the starters back in and I figured that would stop the bleeding but instead Providence just kept hitting shots.
All the moves were the right ones, it just blew up on us. As you say, weird. A "stuff happens" situation. Everything was according to plan until then.
I thought he took Kadary out with something like 4:10 left. He was trying to get him a blow around the media TO. Unfortunately, we couldn't get to the whistle.Did they ask Rick about the bizarre Scott for Kadary sub with 2:40 to go?
I wasn’t quite thinking Jordan…Reggie Miller was coming to mind. That's why you stick them like glue.
Knock off their little fantasy of them thinking they're MJ in the Garden doing the TAKE OVER on the court.
My opinion then and now is a new team is an adjustment. This is the most talented team Kadary has been on, and when they play very fast is out of his element a bit.Don’t get your point Beast. At the time he was poor and out of shape and I’m sure the perception of him being lazy was due to his being out of shape. However, considering his NIL at the time, that was inexcusable and criticism was justified.
That being said, I’m sure we are all happy he has gotten himself in shape and what a difference it has made, but calling out posters for criticizing him back then is not justified.
Maybe SJU's the game was over and looking ahead, just a possibility. In almost any other year, SJU loses this game.
This is a good reminder to the team as Marquette comes in next to keep the foot on the pedal. Yes, PC hit some remarkable threes, but SJU was sloppy.
Probably not because they were busy playing their own games around the countryIt seems less relevant these days, but I'm curious if there were any recruits in the building. Nothing like the magic of MSG when SJU is rolling.
Ha. I guess the underclassmen on the Providence roster count.Probably not because they were busy playing their own games around the country![]()
Torvik had us at 14.7 pt favorites so I'm not surprised. We're at home and Providence isn't a good team. K-State has a higher Kenpom than them, as does Butler, Notre Dame, San Francisco, Georgetown, Nevada and St. Joe's -- just to name a half dozen.
That was also the correct move that got affected by weirdness. Rick took him out at 4:10 thinking to put him back at first stoppage under 4. But that didn't come until 2 minutes and change left. Which worked out fine, Kadary was fresh enough to go win the game for usDid they ask Rick about the bizarre Scott for Kadary sub with 2:40 to go?
