Can he rebound and defend the center position? Even if Zuby improved, he’s foul prone and unlikely to give us more than 25 minutes a game at best. Can’t imagine a lineup with this kid and Zuby playing together.

Way more mobile than Soriano. Not a three point shooter but offensively mobile within 10-15 feet of the basket. Perhaps Pitino sees the potential to expand his game.

Wasn't comparing his mobility to Soriano, just the mid-range game, which was one of Soriano's strengths. I am assuming any center RP brings in will be more mobile and better defensively. At 7-1, 240, he seems like a true center. His history of back problems is a concern, However, I would love a stretch four to go along with him.
 
We tend to jump to conclusions on kids. Red flags to me on Vince include the heart issue and some surgery. Factoring that in and his modest productivity, I think it wise to consider what other programs are pursuing him. He was an in demand high school recruit, but a lot has transpired since then.

I trust staff will do their homework & I’ll shut up.

I don't say this with any intel of the team's roster construction plans, but we shouldn't be hung up on scholarship spots (not saying you are). We saw last year the staff was willing to go over.

For all we know, you're right and Zuby/Vince are buddies, and the staff just sees him as next man up for Zuby after next year. For the right price, maybe they decide to bite because the deal is too good to pass up + leaves some insurance/leverage at the center position.
