Rick Pitino has high hopes for St. John’s freshman Simeon Wilcher
Rick Pitino’s vision for freshman Simeon Wilcher has not changed despite his lack of playing time.

I think this lefty kid from greece is going to be a revelation. These foreign kids have high bball IQ which we desperately need."Wilcher is one player that St. John’s plans to build around, along with fellow freshman Brady Dunlap and sophomores RJ Luis Jr. and Zuby Ejiofor."
Couple folks with eligibility missing...
I could do w/o Luis. I think hes a terrible basketball player. If we keep this core four + hs recruiting class intact, we should feel good heading into next year.
You can radically improve an undisciplined player with skills but you can't teach skills to a player with two left hands and right feet.I could do w/o Luis. I think hes a terrible basketball player.
If Hillary believed Bill when he said "I did not have sex with that woman", I think we can deal with a little "coach speak".Sorry but I won’t believe anything coach has to say till it happens. Pitino has perfected “coach speak” to an art form. Such former quotes like “we have recruited a great group of players”, St John’s will be back fast in months” or “Brady doesn’t need to put on any weight, he’s fine the way he is” only to be turned around 180 degrees leaves me a little gun shy when it comes to believing him.
Now we'll have to deal with Iona trolls who complained last year that he would screw Davis and Ayo over."Wilcher is one player that St. John’s plans to build around, along with fellow freshman Brady Dunlap and sophomores RJ Luis Jr. and Zuby Ejiofor."

Didn't have superstar numbers either, though I'm not sure how much the ball was spread around on that team.Reality is that Wilcher was not a PG in HS. I apologize because I forget the poster but that was also pointed out by someone else on another thread.
Silly ain’t no HillaryIf Hillary believed Bill when he said "I did not have sex with that woman", I think we can deal with a little "coach speak".
I gotta think a true point guard-1 is the number one priority in the portal. Has to be.Reality is that Wilcher was not a PG in HS. I apologize because I forget the poster but that was also pointed out by someone else on another thread.
We also heard you can take offensive players and teach them defense and that didnt work this year. You can radically improve an undisciplined player with skills but you can't teach skills to a player with two left hands and right feet.
Wilcher seems to be a very good prospect as combo guard who will respond to coaching, get stronger and work hard to play a key role next season.
Being patient with Glover next year seems wise v leap many took w Wilcher this year.
