@Xavier, Wed., Jan. 31, 6:30p, FS-1

Seton Hall sucked until Willard bought out Isiah Whitehead’s high school coach and you are now on the borderline of irrelevancy again. No one cares about South Orange, New Jersey. You, too, are apparently so bored with your own team that you feel the need to weigh in here. Sad.
If Rick hired Cooper Flagg's Dad to be a bench coach, and that got Cooper to flip from Duke to us, I don't know about you, but I'd be jumping with joy.

UConn game isn’t a must win. Just would be an awesome win.

Let’s beat the rest at home and DePaul and Georgetown all 4. We will be fine.

Tomorrow is February. I’m listening to Pitino and how this team will be much better come February. We are healing up and hopefully stay healthy.
The reality is that this team has regressed offensively both individually and as a team.

Another thing, we're now well past the point where Pitino can experiment with giving Drissa extended run or guys like Conway any run at all in these games. Drissa for a minute to provide some energy fine but then get him out again. Conway has no business playing outside of a YMCA let alone a Big East game. With every point and possession being of utmost importance you just can't give guys like that minutes.

The rotation needs to be whittled down to 8 main guys- Jenkins, Dingle, Luis, Ledlum, Soriano, Alleyne, Taylor, Zuby. Wouldn't hate Brady getting some mins but he hasn't hit a meaningful 3 since January 10th. Sim and Drissa in tiny spurts if needed but playing with fire the longer they are on the court.

Pitino should bench him vs. UConn, I would.

He dribbles to long, I was watching the X player coming up behind RJ as he was dribbles, and I'm saying to myself watch him steal the ball.
Sure enough what happens??????????

To bad RJ can't transfer again.
Right now, anyone can transfer and be eligible to play without sitting out so he cerycan transfer again.

Interesting how things turn.

+Infinity, hopefully the Feb run Rick talks about precludes “experiments”

Just finished watching. What a game by Jenkins. He was outstanding. I cant remember the last time we had a performance like that from our pg.

Joel stepped up and had a really big 2nd half.

Luis was absolutely awful. He seems to be getting worse each game.

Xavier was destined to win tonight after the 40 point beating they took. Every ball bounced their way and they were hitting ridiculous shots that had no business going in. You can't beat destiny.

Im not worried. We will be fine.

This team will win some games down the stretch, make a nice run in the BET and be dancing in March.

I had my concerns about this game going in so I'm not all that disappointed. I've also kind of come to grips with what we are and what we aren't, as a team and individually.
My biggest disappointment is that for a team wasthat recruited under the mandate "bring me shooters", we just dont have any. I really had high hopes that we would finally be playing basketball the way its played in the third millennium. Instead, just like we have for the last 20 years, we're scratching and clawing for every goddamn bucket...unable to shoot our way out of a deficit or bury a team with three's. So frustrating.

I'm definitely disappointed. Missed shots and giving up layups are a recurring theme. I will say this, I don't ever want to hear anyone say Jenkins isn't a baller. If not for him this would have been one embarrassing loss. And I don't want to hear anymore talk about Luis' awesome potential. He not only missed a bunch of shots but at times he played just plain stupid, driving to the basket between two or three defenders, losing the ball and then running back up court and immediately committing a foul.

Players can transfer twice?
Always good but had to sit out the second time unless they were a grad student under the new rules. The new rules were challenged in court and one court issued an injunction to allow players to play immediately even if they transferred multiple times. The NCAA despite fighting the suit, universally suspended the sit out rule and are currently allowing players to transfer multiple times without sitting out.

Luis looked terrible.

Taylor looked bad.

Alleyne looked badly hobbled and still — sadly — is 2-3x the defender anyone else is. I hope he rubs off on Wilcher.

Jenkins was actually great for the first 38 minutes.

Soriano was almost unstoppable.

Nobody has been able to stay in front of Claude in 2 games and he’s around for 2 more years after this season.

Xavier is going to be a top 25 team next year.

Miller’s inside the huddle was tremendous and Pitino needs to watch it and discuss it with Soriano.

Thought we’d lose this so not too upset but I’m not happy with the three when Soriano wasn’t missing, we were in the double bonus, and their center fouled out. It’s a basketball play.

Would rather keep the kid, but only if he starts passing also. If not then I'd say good bye.

What surprising to me is that we are scratching and clawing for every bucket as most of our offense, minus a pick and roll here and there is a one on one move. I expected a Rick Pitino team to be like a well oiled machine shredding defenses but it has been anything but. In fact I will stand by the thought that while the D has improved, our offense has regressed. Hopefully either the offense gets better or certain individual players hit their offensive stride.
