If we are getting the 2022 version of Marte and we get even 85% of what JD Martinez did last year it might be time to recalibrate expectations a bit.

Hopefully but we're also going to get close to nothing offensively from our catcher for the next few months. So the Lord giveth and taketh...

Sandy Koufax was a horrible hitter who reportedly injured his pitching elbow sliding into 2nd on a double.

Alvarez plays a position dubbed "the tools of ignorance" because of how easy it is to get injured blocking bounced pitches, foul tips, collisions with runners, even running into the railing or dugout. Alvarez injures his thumb running the bases. He actually motors well for his build and for a catcher. Go figure.

Beast I agree he moves well for a catcher but on that play he looked like me stumbling out of JPOD’s back in the day.

Flores and Davis stuck out to me because by their size and hitting makeup, you’d expect them to at least be somewhat athletic. Truly astonishing
