Zinger a Knick

"Zinger a Knick" ....for now. They'll trade him. Melo is too old to wait for this kid to fatten up.

The only rail-thin player that was really good that I can think in the last 30 years is Reggie Miller. But I don't know how Reggie's quickness was coming out of college was compared to this kid at age 18.

Reggie was 5'' shorter, but probably a lot quicker. It's so long ago, I can't quite remember how quick he was coming out of college.

Have there been any other good rail-thin players in the last 30 years?

never heard of him and I'm convinced Phil is still on the laker payroll in a quest to ruin the knicks for eternity

marcus camby

I like it, May be the next Nowitzki. I would have loved russel but I am still happy.

He better be because he has no inside game to speak of. His jumper is gorgeous, but he looks soft as dog sh*t.

I really thought Okafor was going to fall to the Knicks for a second....

Should have traded down and grabbed Payne or Turner. I think Looney will be good too. Not sold on a lot of the guys in the draft.

I don't get how an athletic 7-footer could average under 5 RPG. And a lot of these Euros post similar numbers and then do less than nothing here.

Shoot better so less rebounds?

Been really following the draft closely huh? :)

Not for nothing Mike, but if you never heard of him you probably shouldn't be commenting in this thread. Do your homework, son. ;)

Durant and McGrady were rail thin too. Curry still is

Duh... totally forgot about Durrant. Not fair to compare this kid to him of course, but it's a good example of a tall skinny super-star

Guys I trust tell me he's one part Vlade Divac, two parts Toni Kukoc and three parts John Hempel.

The kid is 19, he will fill out, imagine him at 260. He is a legitimate 7 1 in socks and and has a 7 4 wing span. He loves the game. There will be growing pains but no Fredric Wiese. With the big 3 gone which way would you have gone? Maybe Murindy, Willie Stien, thje kid from duke? Much higher up side here.

The decision had to be Porzingis or Mudiay. Apparently the only other guy Phil was interested in was Kaminsky, and that would have been with a top 8 pick and another player via move down trade. FWIW it looks like a pretty weak draft to me and the pick has as much upside as any of them. I read a quote on ESPN today, The Lakers had Porzingis #2 on their draft board but didn't have the stones to pick him.

I love the Knicks draft. The kid has has a 7-6 wingspan. He is athletic, has a nice stroke, and really wanted to be a Knick. Many draft guys say he has the upside to be the best player in the 19, he played a lot of minutes in a top euro league.

Sure he needs to add weight, but at 19 with the proper diet, that can be accomplished. Better him having to add weight, than having to lose it.

Every pick is a projection, esepically at such a young age. If the kid becomes Dirk Nowitzki, we won't complain.

Moreover, getting Grant, was a nice pick. He looks like he is well suited for the triangle.
