Zach B on Yakwe

I hope he breaks out a little... At least he see's that sometimes he's getting the ball and passing it right back out without even taking a look. At least from the article, it appears his head is in the right place to want to succe

Always a bit skeptical when the "advisor" has to meet with the coach. Like a parent going up to a professor to discuss a child/students grades.

Diakite's advisor as well.

Thought Eddie Murphy was the "King of Mali"

The staff was banking on the King of Mali to deliver Diakite but Kansas made a better o$$er. Now we are paying a high interest rate for banking with the King and Our Savior UnAmerican. Acceleration can be slowed down on those unpaved African roads unless you have an experienced driver.

I wonder if a Coach K has to meet with advisors, who really act as agents. We typically think of the baggage of agents having direct contact with coaches as ending with the recruitment process. The fact that these guys not only don't go away, but also don't stay in the background in a kid's ear is disturbing. It's makes it easier to see why Jarvis didn't want to deal with them when an advisor has access to a coach to meet with him about playing time, performance, shots available, etc. Pretty disgusting if you ask me.

This week.

Not a foreign connection, but programs all over, like Duke, have to deal with a program like Mac Irvin in Chicago if they want a stud like Okafor who spent a year there. LoVett also hails from there. Mac Irvin has a history of "interesting" dealings.

To Beast's point Coach K may also have to cater to such programs, but probably is not held hostage, because Duke is Duke & can always get players. Mullin in this case has to deal with these "advisors" more delicately perhaps, lacking such leverage. Felix, Yakwe, current commit Diakite & several kids now at OSNA & targeted by SJU all are "guided" by this fellow. Nature of college basketball today & the conundrum faced by the Johnnies desperate to get good players. I'm sure CM is not thrilled with that.

After a win over Virginia in which Parker had just eight points and three rebounds, an assistant coach got a text message from Parker’s mother, wanting a meeting with Coach K. Despite how great Parker was, he was failing to utilize his greatness. It wasn’t until Krzyzewski spent all night watching tape that he realized the issue. As weird as it sounds, Parker was concerned about being good too.

Lola watched the Virginia game on TV. It looked to her as if the goals Krzyzewski had set with Jabari during his recruiting visit -- top pick, player of the year -- were being neglected. Had Coach K stopped pushing her son? Frustrated, she sent a stern text message to assistant Jon Scheyer. She said she was flying to Durham for the North Carolina State game on Jan. 18 and wanted a private meeting with Krzyzewski afterward.

Spot on and nothing more to say. Do you know if he is the father of the freshmen twins at OSNA ?
Their family name also happens to be Drame.
