Yukon coffee talk

I wonder if the good people of Connecticut believe that they got the money's worth for the hundreds of millions of dollars Yukon has spent on its FBS football team now that it is in the AAC.

There has been some message board speculation that if it becomes apparent that conference expansion has ended that Yukon may consider moving its football to the MAC and its basketball to the Big East.

That would be great. In order for the Big East to take them, it would have to be clear that they are putting football on the backburner.

I know the conference wants to be for basketball schools but I would love for it to add UCONN and Memphis.

If they and Memphis had done that in the first place, we would have been looking at a conference with the seven Catholics, UConn, Memphis, and Xavier.

And then the BE could decide from there whether Creighton and Butler were the way to go, or whether VCU and someone else would have been the best option.

Memphis football in some serious trouble. They have only made six bowl games in 100 years of football. They averaged 10,000 fans a game last year while losing to two D1AA teams and Middle Tenn State. They were 2-10 the year before, and they have been on a sharp decline since 2008, winning just a total of ten games (including this season).

I say leave Yukon out, why help them ? Their basketball team is going to start sinking and go back to the pre-Calhoun years and that would be a wonderful sight.
