Yellow highlighted topics

This may be obvious, but what does it mean when a topic is highlighted in yellow?

Always at the top of the forum.

What Moose said but if you are looking at the "Recents" view the stickied threads won't be at the top necessarily because the Recent view goes in Time order, newest first.
