Yakwe commits next steps

With yakwe in fold, the Johnnies should have a great rebounding and defensive front line if he can play in 15. I think Ponds and Ahmed are strong commit possibilities too. I do believe that an additional scholarship will be kept open for a transfer grad or otherwise

Welcome aboard Matthew! Correct on all counts. Don't be surprised if Yakwe plays this year and Diallo doesn't. Also, don't see staff wasting too much energy on Alkins. A classmate at CTK who will be attending SJU asked him in June if he was coming to St. John's and he laughed at him without reply and walked away. There was a good reason the previous staff didn't waste any time with him. This staff knows their recruiting and will always have a plan B. The days of walk-on U are over.

I like your positivity my brother. Keep the faith! Also, allow me to welcome you to the Michael J Jordan board. It is a pleasure to have you here and keep up the posts, You will get a call up to the show in no time!

Wouldn't it be wild if Yakwe qualifies and Diallo doesn't. Man his choice of Kansas killed me at the time.

If Lovett doesn't qualify, can anyone play point besides Mussini? I saw Mussini in the USA vs the World game and it looked like the more physical guards might eat him up on the offensive end.

Good poise and range on offense

We need Lovett, but it's not like he's a 'big physical guard' either. Maybe Balamou, Ellison, Mvouika, Johnson can play some PG here and there, in some games against physical matchups.

I agree on Marcus 100%. He is the most important player with a (?) still appearing next to his name. He was recruited to be THE point guard of the future with Musso as his back up. Next year paired with Shamorie Ponds and Musso we would have a small dynamic backcourt as any team in college basketball. The 3, 4 and 5 positions will all have big physical players who can score and defend. For this year, Lovett is a must to crack 20 wins. He will be the difference between winning 4 or 5 additional games.

I'd love to see us uptempo but I don't think this group is the second coming of Run TMC...

Also Bobby Lupo (Who killed him) Welcome aboard the MJJ Forum!

I haven't heard anything lately about any preferences that the German dude Freudeberg had about his visits. Y'all think he will be in College in America in 2016? St. Johns in running with Vandy and BC right?

why is it your board?

Another intriguing story with us being in the mix with Mitchell Lightfoot. West coast kid with interest in program. Clear indication here of Mullin's impact on program. Still thinking he will be an Arizona or Utah guy but it sounds like this guy's motor is on continuous overdrive and would be a good get

Tis mine because I will be the one here forever. Evidently my game doesn't translate to the show.

I am here to guide the rooks to get to the show.

You will get to the show one day.....just be patient and tell them what they want to hear!

Thanks JP but I gotta speak my mind and if they want the status quo then so be it. I wish these guys had or said more inside info...Everything is a secret...

A who's who of recruits touching base with the Staff the next two weeks. Ponds, Alkins, Freudeberg, Ahmed. Exciting to be in the conversation for once.....
