I stand corrected - thanks Kevin. Silly me spelled it St. John's instead of St John's.

SJU is # 402, one spot below John Brown University and one above School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Anyway, I firmly believe in the old adage "It's not where you go, it's what you make of it..."

I don't put a lot of stock in these rankings. I think everyone knows what the best schools in the country are. We also know that state universities are cheaper than private schools. I doubt there is really much difference between the school ranked 125th and the school ranked 175th for example.

I don't put a lot of stock in these rankings.......

Like them or not, college rankings (see US News) drive the number and quality of applications as well as alum donations.

StJohn's disappointing academic rankings serve as Harrington's legacy.

Well Queens College #414 and SJU #402 are similarly ranked schools. For a commuter student who would have to pay full tuition at St. John's, Queens College would cost approximately $130,000 less not counting the time value of money. So what is SJU doing that it ranks above Queens College.
