huge mistake by Maddon using Chapman with that big lead last night. Aron called it on the postgame last night that Chapman doesn't like being taken out of his comfort zone and that could hurt tonight

What a game though

cubs up and Maddon redeems himself with the pinch runner for Schwarber. What a game so for. Best game 7 ever maybe. Seems only fitting for these 2 franchises

I think Terry Collins possessed Maddon during this series

That was a terrible decision by Maddon to pitch Chapman while leading by 5 runs. And to make matters worse he leaves him in with a 7 run lead. How stupid a move, especially knowing Chapman will be needed the next night. Looked overrated with that move. And let's not forget another bad decision when he takes Hendricks out even though he threw only 60 plus pitches. Why bring Lester in the middle of the inning when he isn't use to relieving. Overcoaching once again.

Winner take all game, all pitchers are normally on a short lease and all are available. Buck Showalter went the other way in the 2005 playoff and who knows maybe if he hadn't stuck with Cone and brought in Rivera (I know he was a rookie at the time, but he had done a good job in the Pen after being called up as a starter), who was warming up in the bullpen, maybe the Yankees beat Seattle in the 1995 playoffs and they face the Indians in the ALCS.

Bottom line is, Maddon is the manager of the 2016 World Series Champion and they did it after being down 3 games to 1 and winning the last two on the road.

Exciting and fantastic game that even my wife stayed up to watch the whole thing (she is a sports fan but usually doesn't stay up to watch the whole thing unless its playoffs or World Series time involving the Yankees or Mets) although neither of us had a routing interest except for wanting a good game.

Now, who else besides me figured that based on the Cubs past history and overall bad luck, they would be 1 strike away from winning before someone on Cleveland hit a walk-off home run?

Although I have been a die hard New York Yankees fan since the late 50's, I have always thought that the best thing for baseball would be if the Chicago Cubs would win the World Series. Not only they did it, but it was a great 7 game series against the Cleveland Indians. I can't think of a better opponent. In my lifetime, the Yankees have been in the World Series 24 times, and won it 15 times. I am content. I have always said that I would rather see the Cubs win it, before the Yankees do again. Some of us Yankees fans are greedy. They want the team to win every year. But seeing the Cubs win one, is something I think all baseball fans will enjoy. Congratulations, Chicago Cubs! You are baseball's best. Enjoy it all of you long suffering Cubs fans! You'll probably enjoy it more than we spoiled Yankee fans who take it for granted sometimes.

Its the best thing for baseball this year but the worst thing for baseball nationally in the long run. Baseball's relevance continues to slide and the Curse of the Billy Goat was one of the strongest legends/story lines in sport. Now it's a historical footnote.

Rating did a 25 or something, which is really good compared the last few World Series.

Baseball has lots of young stars and the owners are making money hand-over-first. Certainly not what it was for younger fans (or players), especially in this day of those looking for instant gratification, but I think baseball is still doing pretty good.
