Women's World Cup and Copa

Just got back into the country and watched the WWC US game Sunday but the games are not at a good time for viewing on weekdays. I'll try and watch the game Thursday. Re Copa I'll watch the USMNT tonight but not as interested in that one.

Copa is S America, so we don't play in that, We're in the Gold Cup, hope we kick Guyana's ass tonight.

As for the women, I hope we celebrate alot for each goal, and if the world don't like it, my mentality is:
F THE WORLD, you don't like it, then stop us if you can.
Let no one dictate how we can celebrate.
I do like how we trolled TSN and former canadien players with Golf claps, that was funny.

I really want us to play Canada and kick their asses, 7-0 and celebrate big time after each damn goal.
Sorry north, I just hate being told how we can celebrate and when it's appropriate.
Blame Fifa and Thailand for not funding and developing the sport more.

What were we supposed to do, pass it around the backfield a million time? Wouldn't that be disrespectful to the game and fans in attendance?

Peru better beat Bolivia right now because that was a bad tie against Venezuela and against Brazil on saturday is going to be virtually impossible

Yeah my bad on copa/gold.

Re the controversy I heard no one say they should have stopped scoring. Just that they should tone down the celebrations.

That said F 'em. These women were scoring in the biggest tournament in the world. Enjoy the experience.

I remember the dream team acting all morose after dominating every game back in the day . . . yeah, right.

Even the thailand coach and news people said that you should celebrate how you want. That this is a joyful event and you should have joy when you win.
Glad canada hasn't won the Stanley cup since 92 (the habs), and it's their sport.

Viva Peru !!!! Lima is insane right now !!! Next up Chile our most hated rival

What's with the "our"? Just because you spend a bit of time in Peru and a lot more inside a Peruvian doesn't make you a citizen. ;)

The fucked up thing is we play Chile Wednesday and we just landed at Easter Island and had all our Peru Kit stuff in my suitcase to go out and watch the game at a bar wed night and LATAM lost my luggage. I’m so pissed right now

I watched the women’s game versus Spain. Tonight obviously big game here versus England. Some of the Brits at the office said they have been pleasantly surprised by the caliber of the women’s game and really appreciate the lack of flopping.

The Premier League teams have particularly done a great job of growing the womens game.

What a win vs Chile !!!! There are like no bars on Easter Island but we find a restaurant closed with people inside watching the game. We knock on the door and Nathalie asks them if they are open and they say no they are closed for the game and it’s just employees and family. They invite us in and then we take off our sweatshirts ( St. John’s more to that story in a day or 2 ) abd then we bust out our Peruvian kits abd they start cracking up. They couldn’t have been nicer during that grueling loss and were giving us their sangria so after we won we were buying their drinks but the owner did it at cost not markup. Total cost to me $69. Lol. One of the funnest experiences of my life

Didn’t say we were? Someone else in this thread mentioned the men’s US team so I posted about it here

Will Sunday be the day that the U.S. be put on the soccer map as a whole?

Our Women (the best in the world) win the WC, then the men beat Mexico to win the GC.
That would be sweet.

Great job by the Women !!!

Now time to focus on Peru and making the Copa finals for the first time in 44 years and if they do the virtual impossible today and beat Brazil who already smoked them in an earlier match they are saying this would be the biggest upset in Copa History.

Lima is out of control right now people already marching in the streets.. VAMOS PERU !!!!

Plaza De Armas downtown Lima bigger crowd than World Cup
