#8 seed. First game against Auburn on Friday evening. Second game would be against #1 Baylor....in Waco. Not a great draw.

never is. Had to play Oklahoma at their place and Tennessee. When they had their chance at Carnesecca in the tourney they lost.. High seeds get home games in Women's game for the draw.

Honestly, if we have to be an 8, Baylor is probably the best place we could go to. They are clearly the fourth #1 seed.
 
Ladies are getting thumped. 25-9, middle of the second quarter.

They are having all kinds of problems with Auburn's pressure D.
 
A nice run by SJU to end the half, has the deficit cut down to 31-23 at intermission (they trailed by 19 at one point).

The pressure D was the fear.
A good second quarter butHandford had 4 turnovers and 2 fouls in 11 minutes. She and Grant both have to have good games if we are to win.
4 points is not what we need from the program's all time leading scorer and the big east defensive player of the year.
 
4:27 to go third quarter. 39-34 Auburn. We were doing very well, until the last two offensive possessions, which were poor.
 
Down by 5 but Handford with 3 more turnovers in the 3rd quarter so far. If she was playing half as well as she normally does we would be blowing them out :(.

I think Auburn started taking the momentum back as the quarter ended.

2 missed FTs at the end hurt, also.

Akina Wellere missed 2 free throws to end the 3rd. Down 7.
Who will show up for the 4th quarter ????????
 
Looks like it's all over for ladies. Down 12 with 2 and a half to go.

Hate to say it but typical SJU post season performance. Post season success for any of our programs is a rare thing indeed. :(
