why black uniforms?

 We have only lost when we wore black uniforms.For over 100 years we were winners with red uniforms
 
I know it should not matter, but they are ugly just as bad as the 94-95 jerseys the team wore.

Let's stay with red and white.

They also beat USF with them last year.
Tradition? Did we give up Red and Go to purple and orange or something?
Kid's like black jerseys. Most teams in pro and college have an alternate (most of the time black version)

 I'd also say its an additional revenue stream but since we don't sell any that point is moot.

 You're right though Moose (of course). MD does the black unis and the all gold unis, but doesn't sell them either. By most accounts, it looks good on the players (just a change alone), and gets people talking a bit. A little extra marketing never hurt anyone.

I dont care what they wear as long as they improve
 
 I have never really liked the black uniforms, but perhaps I am in the minority on that. Although I fail to see a correlation, we really do have a bad record when wearing them.

Couldn't agree more, Fran. I'm with Mushnick on his take on black unis.
 
 Maybe I am 10 years old at 74. Maybe Louie was 10 years old when he wore the sweater when we were winners.I don't think Louie would have fooled around with tradition ,neither do I. We are superstious. Please put the red back on.We have enough bad luck when we loss the name REDMEN.
 
 No superstition involved with our losses in these uniforms. We need to get better and the kids can wear the black uniforms all they want. That said, I prefer and love our red ones. No problem breaking out the black ones once in a while.
