what does it take for Rawle to choose Johnnies?

I'm feeling like we have a better chance at landing Rawle than I did a few weeks ago.

With Ahmed now commited, along with Ponds and Lovett, I see players around him that might match his style of play along with Yakwe and Sima.

We offer plenty of playing time, Mullin/Richmond, NYC/MSG/near family

What are we missing that either of the NC schools are going to give him if he only intends to stay for one year before going to draft?

While at CTK he let it be known that he had no interest in playing at SJU. Thus, the previous staff laid off him. Of course had Lavin shown the kid love early that might not have been the case. Believe me that Bashir is the better all around player than Alkins. Bashir has never been selfish with the ball which is something I can't say about Rawle from watching him play a few times at CTK. Would he be a nice get? Yes, but I much would rather have the best shooting 6'8 seventeen year old in Germany or a 7 foot power forward in Thon Maker. ;)

If Alkins is still not much of a team player then perhaps it's best he go elsewhere. Still, I agree a huge get thats worth the risk and cements position against any doubters on recruiting capability.

Freudenberg will serve us well...would be good if he gained some weight over the spring / summer.

Just read a post in recruiting sub forum that Alkins added back a 9th school (Arizona).

If he's adding out of state school at this point he might not be homesick too much.

I believe it comes down to if Rawle wants to stay home. If he wants to stay he will be playing at the Garden fpr the Johnnies.

I agree Mullin needs to get frontcourt help in 2016 and might want to hold on to a scholarship for 2017 too.

I know i just created a new thread on this but I will add on to it here. I think we have a legitimate shot at Rawle Alkins. Maybe he is somewhat selfish of a player but I can see him doing great things here. Also, I believe the key to getting Maker is through Alkins. A starting lineup with Ahmed, Lovett, Alkins, Ponds, and Maker would be near unstoppable.

Besides coming home, Rawle must clearly see the PT available here, even after the additions we make next year. He becomes a historic recruit for St. John's if he decides to come back and Alkins surely knows that. His jump shot will be 100X times better with Mullin and Richmond, and that is the propeller into the NBA as a legitimate guard.

Something special is brewing here in Queens and I hope Rawle decides to become a part of that. Instead of becoming just another five star at a blue blood he can start his legacy where it has already started brewing.
