What Does Disney-Fox Deal Mean for FS1?

Was reading about the acquisition, and saw this footnote:

As part of the deal, 21st Century Fox retained the Fox television network and stations, Fox News Channel, Fox Business Channel, FS1, FS2 and the Big Ten Network. They will be part of a newly listed company after the close of the deal.

Just curious as to what this means for the future of FS1, which the Big East has a lot riding on. From all indications, the channel had been growing over the past few years, but will the same type of money be invested in it to help it continue to grow?

My take is that they are looking to focus their spending on their few big money properties. I think building a much stronger link between Fox Network and FS1/2 a la ESPN/ABC Sports will be part of that. Don't see it hurting them too much. I wonder if the regional properties they included in the deal were profitable or a strain on their resources. I also wonder what Disney will do with them. Turn them into ESPN regional networks?

The biggest question is does this now mean that the X Men universe can be combined with the Marvel Universe? ;)

I would love to see an Avengers/X-Men crossover and a real resolution of the the forced separation due to property rights of Quicksilver (X-Men) and Pietro Maximov (Avengers) character(s).

Spoiler Alert

Okay the latter might be difficult since Pietro died in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Murdoch is holding on to his Fox Network assets...including the sports channels. That pretty much means business as usual. As far as anti-trust...heavy smoke blowing. Time Warner has issues with its merger because Trump hates CNN and the Prez is getting even. He loves Fox. Take it from there.
