This would be a first for a pro team to do emulate what many Universities have done with Native American nicknames, including SJU.

I will start, how about: Washington Fiscal Cliffs, Washington Tax and Spenders, Capital Gridlocks,

I know the Washington Bullets changed to Wizards. That backfired (no pun intended) because the only thing dropping in DC is the Wizards's winning percentage, not sure about crime rate.
