Wagner

I am 5 mins away from Wagner. Don't know what it is but strange seeing Danny on the bench.

Danny Hurley is a very very driven personality type, you could see that when he played at Seton Hall. More intense than Bobby who was obviously way more talented.

Wagner will be real good while Danny is there.

There is another connection, P.J. Carlesimo coached Wagner before Seton Hall.

With all due respect you couldn't be more wrong. Danny was clearly more talented than Bobby but lacked his focus and commitment. He seriously underachieved at SHU and the reasons are well documented. Credit to him that he has matured and become a fine coach with a huge upside.

Just curious, what are the well documented reasons?

Danny left the team at SHU to take a break from basketball while he was there. Frankly, well documented was a very poor choice of words but it was widely known in basketball circles he was very uncomfortable being constantly compared with his brother and this manifested itself at SHU where he was booed for his lack of immediate success as opposed to Bobby's impact at Duke. After re-reading my post, I was too aggressive because Danny was not "clearly more talented" than Bobby but many basketball observers thought he was, myself included. My bad

Whenever anyone starts off a statement with "With all due respect"...the exact opposite is true, they want to hammer you with little respect....like "you couldn't be more wrong" ouch. I think I am correct.

Anyway, while agreeing with Logen that Danny had personality issues" at Seton Hall, I stand 100% behind my statement that Bobby was "way more talented", one reason is strength of character and determination is part of one's talents. Plus even if Danny was happier than hell at SH, he would not have had a career like Bobby had on an individual level. Obviously on a team basis, there is no comparison between their careers.

Right now these two guys seem to be in a good place for their lives and will succeed at Wagner, and step up in the world of men's college BB.

Live real close to Wagner, the Hurley's have created a nice buzz on the island, but like a told a co worker who also works closely with Wagner, the win against Pitt means little if they don"t win their tourney.

assuming he doesnt leave for uri, he will be in great shape with dwaun anderson coming in next year.

He likes being near his parents. I don't think he leaves Wagner unless it's for a bigger job in New York or New Jersey.

If you believe the rumors, he had a handshake agreement to take over St. John's if Lavin was unable to continue. I know Lavin thinks very highly of him.

Belatedly, your point about intangibles is well taken. As for the respect comment, I see you are another mind reader on a board full of them, and if you think my reply was hammering you must lead a very protected existence - I merely disagreed with you.

He supposedly blew away the search committee in his interviews.. doesn't hurt that he is very close with the their most talented recruit of all time in Anderson.
