Two of the great Joe Lapchick's children will be at tonight's game.

Richard, a St, John's grad, as well as his sister Barbara will be at Carnesecca tonight, along with Barbara's daughter and Barbara's two grandsons.

Yes and I did not know it! I was sitting next to her for an entire half not knowing. We spoke often. She is a wonderful person, very warm and friendly!

Coach C was sitting between Ron Rutledge and Brian Mahoney
Brought back some great memories of the good old days

The crowd was terrific tonight and brought back memories of the days when Alumni Hall rocked...its antiquated but when team is doing OK, the place jumps...Mullin has really energized the fan base. Student sections have been outstanding...

Would have been nicer if they spelled their name correctly on the electronic Board...Lapcheck
Was worse than that...they spelled it Lapcek. :(

Even more worser (sic) than that, the school tried to invite Kareem, but addressed the invite to Lew Alcindor. He then had a change of heart and attended a function at UCLA instead.

Rejected by Kareem again. Black cloud over this program just won't go away.

When I saw that, I thought it was a coincidence that the spelling of the welcomed guest was so close to Lapchick. Whoever typed that has no sense of SJU bball history or royalty. Give that person the book "100 years of ...". Pretty bad mistake.

I googled Joe Lapcek and Joe Lapcheck, and both searches directed me to Joe Lapchick. In this day and age, the Internet really makes it pretty hard to F up a famous person's name. So bravo to the painfully stupid St. John's employee who managed to do so.

Macro- aggression alert.

Yeah when I saw Lapcek on the scoreboard I thought it was a hockey player from the Rangers or the islanders.
