Winning sure doesn't hurt either

Nor does having an alumnus that writes a check for close to $25 million.

It was scheduled for massive renovation before that. Finneran's donation was just icing on a 600 million dollar cake, which in the early days of the campaign quickly amassed 50 donations of $1 million or more

hummm a lot more diversity in that sketch than I recall seeing at Nova games / around campus...

I wasn't going to go there but since you brought it up, it was actually the first thing I noticed.

thanks JSJ, interesting info! I wasn't trying to call out Nova for anything I just found the rendering a little off(from my experiences). I'll save that website as its useful.

While Nova maybe on par nationally for a mid-large size urban university, I feel its diversity is a little lacking.

I'm in Spring Lake often in the summer, I owe you a scone...

The statement in the article that says that Villanova is racially similar to the United States is a little misleading. They break out hispanics separately in the graph and the school is appx 75 percent white. The United States is less than 60 percent white when you identify hispanics separately.

Just to be clear I think Villanova is a very school and some of the rankings were off. It was rated in the 400's out of 1200 schools for value.

I do know Father Peter personally, and I can tell you that without question when he assumed the President's role at Villanova, his goal was to make Villanova more diverse ethnically and racially. I think it's a work in progress, but Villanova has by all means changed in that regard. You are aware that the nickname for the school is Vanillanova.

By the charts provided by JSJ, Villanova has made solid strides in that regard to diversify the student population. They have done this without sacrificing quality of student, and in fact over 10 years the entrance requirements continue to increase.
