Just returned from Vegas and picked up the latest betting sheet for next year's NCAA championship......current odds:

Villanova - 15 to 1
Butler - 25 to 1
Xavier - 50 to 1
Seton Hall - 60 to 1
St. John's - 75 to 1
Providence - 100 to 1
Creighton - 125 to 1
Marquette - 200 to 1
Georgetown - 750 to 1
DePaul - not listed

If this is any indication of how the season will go, we should finish 5th in the Big East which would likely result in an NCAA berth....

I don't know how Butler can be on any board right now, with all the uncertainty. Even so, 25-to-1 seems too high, IMO.

Agree with you about Butler. I did read something that said the next Butler coach will have a tough job because his main responsibility will be keeping maybe Butlers' best recruiting class ever. I am no recruiting guru but they must have a real good class and maybe that is what those odds are based on.
 
Two years of significant progress. Must have been over 1000 to 1 if even listed prior to Mullin's first year.

Funny, I was in Vegas last December and at the Sports book and couldn't find Villanova listed. I was gonna drop some money on them to repeat. Best money I never spent.
 
I think the odds in Vegas are too low in general on these types of bets. I think St. John's has a chance to make the NCAA's but would not bet them to win the NCAA championship at 75-1. Its just throwing away money.
 
We were 300-1 a month ago. That's crazy to think it went all the way to 75-1. Someone must have made some bets on them, doesn't make sense for it to drop so significantly. Better off betting Xavier and Providence, much better value. I'll still bet the Johnnies but more on Xavier.
 
I'm about to leave Vegas in a few hours. We are 125-1 to win the championship, providence is also 125-1 and Xavier is 40-1. These are the only 3 teams I asked about and bet on. Biggest bet was on Xavier.
