So Mike Vaccaro in today's NYPost writing about Kemba Walker coming home, mentions a list of great NYC point guards going back to Lenny Wilkens, Bob Cousy and of course, our own Dicky McGuire.

Mike being a Johnnies rooter (though not if we face his Bonnies)- also mentions our guys Mark Jackson, Boo Harvey, Frank Alagia and David Cain.I would have mentioned Shamorie (over the last two) and I am sure I am missing others.

The rest of his list from Tiny, the Kennys, Marbury, Pearl, Strickland are all time greats.

P.S., I edited Marcus Hatten out, brain freeze I know he's not a NYC kid, forgot, I got carried away because I thought he was fantastic, still remember his game winner versus Duke at the Garden, I was there with a bunch of Dookies, it was so sweet.

P.P.S.Jason Buchanan Erick Barkley were both from NYC??

Hattens from Baltimore
that's why I was confused only Marcus were Hatten and Lovett, both out of state.

I didn’t think he meant Hatten because he was from Baltimore.

Vaccaro didn't list Sebastain Telfair who had more points at Lincoln High School than Lance Stephenson, but not an all time great.

Since Vaccaro included Larry Brown from Long Beach and Frankie Alagia from Rockville Centre let's add Kyrie Irving from Irvington, NJ just as close to NYC.....

I’m not positive, but I could have sworn when Joe Girard became the states all time leading scorer lance was one of the final guys he passed. Did he start somewhere other than Lincoln?

I believe you are correct and Lance is second all time. Telfair is slightly behind Lance and fourth all time.
