Two quick points-
1) I assume Ponds didn't make this team as I didn't see his name in the box score last night ?

2) I did see Richard Freudenbergs name. Looks like he was 0-7 with 0 points in 22 mins for Germany.

1 - Correct, Ponds did not make the team. Huge honor to be invited and IMO his talent level easily deserves a spot on the US team.
2 - Germany lost to US, RF had poor game.

Freudenberg was unproductive in other box scores as well fwiw.

Was sorry to see him leave SJU but with each passing game it becomes clearer he still is not ready to contribute at this level. Wilson and Clark would clearly eat up any possible minutes allotted to RF. Wish him all the very best going forward.

Huge break for US as R.J. Barrett fouls out with 3 minutes to go. Canada up 10. Barrett finishes with 38 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists.

Cal can now move over to Canadian bench to recruit Barrett up close. :)

Rowan's kid can play a bit. Stud!

FINAL: Canada 99, USA 87

Must say I am very surprised, as I did not think we would win. We have 2 BrookwoodElite Kids on Team , 1 who is going to St. Joes and 1 who is being recruited by Nova. Go Brookwood , go CANADA. :)

51-36 for Canada at halftime over Italy.
Shooting very well from 3 and killing them on the boards. Very anti climatic without team USA.

79-60 final for Canada.
Don't get to see Barrett play often but he is so unselfish and surprisingly is an outstanding passer. He plans on staying in college for all of one season.
If by some miracle Lovett, Simon, Ponds, Wilson, Dixon, Keïta all return to SJU in September 2019 we will be a damn good team , not knowing who else we can add in the next 2 classes and Matt is involved with some very good talent, we will have a shot at RJ who made the 5 member FIBA all star team along with Payton Pritchard of Oregon who just played in the final four , and who just won the tournament MVP, even though he is 2 years younger than most players.
What a great honour for RJ.
