Unprepared and disinterested

I'm loathe to criticize 20 year olds, but, plain and simple-they didn't come to play. Anytime you let a mid major opponent drop 39 points on you, scouting, even with short turn around time, was non existent. A shame that this is the taste you are left with after a season which had some good moments.

The crowd was an embarrassment as well. They couldn't round up more than 500 students to go to the game? The visual of ESPN's score display, with the Johnnies down by 20-plus for the vast majority of the game, set against the backdrop of a completely empty Alumni Hall, was sobering. A bad night for the program, and, to a larger extent, SJU's representation of the new Big East.

dude, how dare you cast an oz. of blame on the crowd. 1027 paid money to see that display of horrible basketball. Blame should be directed at the staff and the players.

Maybe the mods can merge 6 of these threads into 1 ? We can title it using the titles of the threads involved

So after tonight Lavin failed to blend talent to create a team and if you are not embarrassed by this team you are unprepared and disinterested and whats the damage ? But on the bright side...Who are you going to adopt

Didn't find out about Rysheed until I got into Alumni Hall. Yes, Karr's technical foul was dumb and the huge hole from the start totally killed any chances, but some of RMU's shots, contested and falling away 3 pointers? That's when you just have to say f*ck it. At least they came back to cut the deficit and there was a chance to cut it to 5 but Hoop bricked a three. Hard to imagine calling a 20 win season a disappointment but that's what it feels like, at least in the immediate aftermath anyway. I'm not down with the Fire Lavin people because they're like mongos who call up WFAN and have no solution. Get rid of a guy who actually wants to be here and build something and replace him with who exactly? What coaches are out there praying "I hope the SJU job opens up!"? I am down with those who suggest Lavin start recruiting a different type of player (more high basketball acumen, less freakish athlete). Assuming the "veteran group" returns with Sheed running the point, maybe we could be upper echelon in the conference next season. And oh yeah, not starting 0-5 would definitely help.

Players aside, I was clearly unprepared (is Robert Morris a player?) and totally disinterested (I spent much of the time between 7 and 9 eating meatloaf and reading my daughter books like "It's a Snowy Day, Biscuit" oblivious to the fact that St. John's University was playing a basketball game.)

But I guess you're talking about the players, which may be a bigger deal to this audience.

Are you kidding. Starting threads, no matter how redundant are like prison tatoos. It gives you cred.

The problem with the players is not one of them is from New York/ We need a few New York recruits. New Yorkers are not quitters like that bunch that embarrassed the school and themselves the other night

You keep saying this over and over and over and over. This is so antiquated, and, frankly, shows a level of ignorance. Pardon me for saying such, but that is how it looks from my view.

Do you really believe this foolishness or just trolling? Please tell us it's the latter.

The biggest whiner and cry baby of them all played high school basketball in New York, your theory seems invalid
