Okay, I confess to being a uni-nerd with a bit of an obsessive nature. But clicking through the gallery from last night's game, it's clear we wore different uniforms than in the SF State game. (Three easy things to spot: different jersey collar, sleeve stripe/no sleeve stripe on the shoulder, and solid red waist band on shorts vs. black/red/black band).

There are three distinctive uniforms sets (home and away), however you are right as the ones they have won for these two games were not same. The one they wore Saturday is the version of the second home uniform shown on the site above. It is considered the "St. John's Classic" with the "throwback" lettering. The one worn last night is not contained in the renderings. It also has the old style "St. John's lettering."

I've been a big fan of all the new unis. Just curious why we have two home/classic sets that are pretty much identical. Prototype and actual? Back-up set? A quick sample planned for the Euro trip but not ready/released in time?

Hardly a pressing issue...just curious.

I hope they have these available for the fans before league play begins. Anyone have any insight on when they will be released? the UA.com site just has those two t-shirts and nothing else.

Hardly a pressing issue...just curious.

I think its just an issue with initial runs differing slightly and they are kicking tires of what looks/feels best. Same with so many players wearing different sneakers at this point.
