UConn / Cuts in Athletic Department

When a school has low demand for certain academic programs, they get scaled back or eliminated without too much second guessing. Sports should be no different.

What a great addition to the Big East - a school with a history of cheating and an incompetent administration. So glad we threw them a lifeline and took them back!

They still have not cut back the FB program per the article which is a huge mistake-as big as it was to step up to play with the BIG boys. They should pare back FB and play at the Nova/UMass level in the playoff grouping. They would have natural rivals in Umass, URI, UNH, Maine, Vermont and Nova.

Water finds it’s level. Forget cutting other sports.
Uconn should cut their pathetic football program and settle in to the Big East as a basketball school like they always were and where they belong. They don’t want to eat humble pie yet, but it’s the only thing on the menu in the future...

UConn should absolutely cut football immediately. For them, it is not a viable sport. They have been terrible for years. UConn is now one of the few major college independents in the country and will have to travel a great deal in order to schedule games at a time when athletic departments are being stretched to the max. There is more fan interest in men's and women's basketball at UConn than there is in football.

Time to cut the ties now!!!
