UCLA's Shabazz Muhammad Ruled Ineligible

Hah, nice to see someone else get screwed for once that isn't us. It's about time...they got a ton of crazy good recruits. Now let's see the NCAA do this to UNC, Duke, or Kentucky.

Announcement covered only tonights game. They're still "investigating" but did a press release to cover there asses for forcing Shabazz ato miss the game without a determination. Marques Johnson on Fox storts tonite said the NCAA has had difficulty getting statements/cooperation from the coaches of the schools involved in the supposed infractions (where he was visiting for the questionably financed trips) - Duke, UNC and Memphis.

Something doesn't look right here. My guess is many kids get people to "kick" in money all the time to make these trips. Sounds like one of the losing schools may have ratted something out here. A little recruiting bitterness?

If Bruce Pearl was still coaching I'd agree with you. :)

Think one of the worst jobs in the world is being a college recruiter.

Was told a story, FWIW, by someone very, very credible.

He IS NOT a St. John's employee.

Told me that a certain young man and top recruit, who is now eligible to play at a West Coast school, has a sister who is a waitress in Manhattan. Apparently, a rep from the aforementioned school would go into the restaurant where she was working, order 2 drinks and leave a $500 tip each time. And he didn't do it 1, 2, or 3 times.

Take it for what you will, but do not find it difficult to believe, especially coming from someone with a ton of credibility.

I do remember someone's sister pushing a certain school very hard in a story from Zag.

Muhammad has been cleared to play after missing three games. Will have to repay $1600 for inpermissable gifts for unofficial visits to Duke and North Carolina.

I seem to remember that SJU player Marco Baldi got in more trouble for making phone calls . Anyone remember that story ??
