Twas The Night Before a St Johns Christmas

Twas the night before christmas, when all through Madison Square Garden
Not a fan was stirring not even Logen ( had to think of something remotely rhyming with Garden . lol )

Our players surrounded their Coach and looked down with care
They listened intently to every word as Coach Anderson was there

Our players got ready as if they heard a bell
Visions of what they were about to inflict on the other team. 40 MINUTES OF HELL

Coach Anderson stands up rocking the Jacket Kerchief and Mrs Anderson Rocking her Stylish Clothes
The Crowd knows whats about to happen and we all cheered and rose

Tipoff is now and there arose such a clatter
Josh Roberts just swatted a shot and showed the other team what’s the matter

Down the court we flew down in a flash
Dunn to Heron in an open court Dash

The Garden is Rocking as Looie looks on with care
We finally are building a great style of play that as a SJU fan for so long it’s been bare

LJ having another excellent all around game
So many guys crashing the offensive boards they are tough to name

When what to our wandering eyes in the stands could it be
Every Local Coach and recruit as far as the eye can see

With Coach Anderson so lively and quick
We finally forget about that redmen.com poster who kept saying we were getting Rick

More rapid than Eagles his players they came
Coach Anderson whistled and shouted and called them by name

Now Fig and Heron and Julian And Josh
Rasheem and Greg David and Marcellus
Mcgriff and O’Connell Sears and Cole
Rutherford and Steere
You guys will be known as the building blocks that started a new era of St Johns Basketball right here

Instead of coal, Santa leaves Bronx Pale Ales if you’ve been naughty. Sooner or later we’ll get you on some actually GOOD beer Mike... ;-)

I keep telling you Old Fezziweg is the real deal.

Nicely done MJ.

Elusive and limited. Probably not available enough to satisfy or replace your favorite BPA. But worth a try during this holiday season.

Time to petition SJU to carry Bronx Pale Ale at CA. It would be a Christmas miracle.

I'm with you sjc88. In fact I was just out at our local supermarket getting the ingredients for a Portuguese fish stew I make on cold rainy days like today and hoping I could find a Sam Adams Winter classics 12 pack - no luck will probably have to wait until the weekend before Christmas. Mike, you can usually find these only around Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. I still have one Old Fezziwig left from the 12 pack I got over Thanksgiving weekend. I also love the Winter Lager that is part of the Winter Classics pack. Luckily while that one is also seasonal they sell 6 packs and 12 packs so I can stock up and get more than 2 at a time!
Mike, loved the poem btw.

Thanks for sharing the link. I truly loved that beer when it first came out and you could get it by the 6 pack (I even remember it coming out in a larger bottle--22 ounces?).. Now Boston Lager hides it in their winter 12 pack. Shame on them.

Not a beer expert, so I didn't think twice when I saw it, but I definitely saw Old Fezziweg on a shelf. Not sure if Safeway or Target in Alameda, Calif., would be unusual locations, but those are the stores I'm mostly in.

Unless it was a shelf in my friend's fridge. In which case I'll take one and pack it in my luggage for you.

And then it has to go in a checked bag and pray that no Fezziweg sniffer dogs intercept your relief mission.

One time I had a banana in my carry on landing in Lima and when I was waiting for my luggage to come out the dog comes right over and starts tapping my bag with its paw. Totally forgot I had it in there. If a dog got me beer I’d be really pissed

At which point I have to worry about baggage screeners sniffing it out. Or at the very least breaking it when throwing my baggage. I'll have to put it in a couple of ziplocks and bury it right in middle of clothing. I'm actually going over their house in a little while, so cross your fingers.
